* What are "Radiograms", and how are they delivered?
Radiograms are very much like the old-style "Western Union" telegrams that
you may have sent previously. The major difference is that radiograms are absolutely
free! Why? Because the radio licensing authority in the United States (the
Federal Communications Commission) allows radio amateurs (click on the 'Amateur
Radio Information' button) to experiment with radio technology. In return for
this exceptional leeway and freedom, the Amateur Radio operators perform enormous
amounts of public service. For free. And you're now availing yourself of but one
example of this service.
Once you create your radiogram(s) -- and you're allowed to send dozens or
even hundreds of them if you wish -- they are automatically relayed via Amateur
Radio networks to the city of ultimate destination, where they are delivered by
telephone to the addressee, the person you want the message to go to.
